General Information:

• The admissions are and will be done in accordance with the Ordinance No. 181 (Ordinance for admissions of students to the Post-Graduate courses in the University Departments/ Institutions)
• This entrance is specifically conducted for admission to Full time courses [M. A. / M.Sc. (Mathematics) and M. Tech. (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications)] conducted at Department of Mathematics University of Pune only.
• 50% seats of the overall sanctioned intake capacity are reserved for reserved category students from the Maharashtra State.
• Reservation is applicable only for Maharashtra domicile SC, ST, DT, NT, OBC, SBC categories as per Govt. of Maharashtra G.R. and 3% for PH.
• Non-creamy layer certificate is necessary for DT/NT/OBC/SBC category candidates at the time of final admissions.
• If you are a domicile of state of Maharashtra then you should submit the domicile certificate.
• Students are advised to follow the instructions about the admission process/round posted on the website of the department http://math.unipune.ac.in only and any other information may not be entertained on the Dept. office telephone.
• If a candidate wishes to apply for both the courses M. A. / M. Sc. and M. Tech.,he/she should send only ONE APPLICATION mentioning both the courses with necessary documents and fees and the entrance examination will be common for both the courses.
• Merit list for M.A. / M.Sc. (Mathematics) course will be prepared on the basis as described below:
  1. Pune University candidates:
  50% Entrance marks + 50% Qualifying Examination marks.
  2. All other candidates:
  Purely on Entrance marks
• Merit list for M. Tech. (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications) course will be prepared Purely on Entrance marks.
• पुणे विद्यापिठाबाहेरील कोट्यामध्ये कोणत्याही अभ्यासक्रमास प्रवेश घेऊ इच्छीणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यास जर पुणे विद्यापीठाच्या कोट्यामध्ये त्या अभ्यासक्रमास त्या प्रवर्गात प्रवेश घेणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यास प्रवेश परीक्षेमध्ये अथवा अर्हता परीक्षेमध्ये मिळालेल्या किमान गुणांहून कमी गुण मिळाले तर सदर अभ्यासक्रमास प्रवेश दिला जाणार नाही.
• The list of candidates to be called for admission rounds will be posted on Department website. No other communication will be done.
• Students are advised to bring VALID ID proofs and Documents for entrance examination and Admission.

• Keep all the documents and DD (of the specified amount) of nationalized bank to be drawn in favour of The Registrar, University of Pune, payable at Pune with you while filling online application form.


• After filling all the details of the application form the computer will automatically generate the application number. Please note down your application number, it will not be generated again.


• Using the application number take a print of the application form from the link

• Paste your passport size photo on duly signed printed application form and send it with DD and attested copies of necessary documents on/before 10^th of June 2013 to the following address.

Admit Card:

After verifing application forms and preparing the list of eligible candidates for entrance examination, the admit card will be displayed on website.
